The Gingerbread Houses™ of Trinidad and Tobago are a part of Caribbean heritage.
What is a Gingerbread House™?
Gingerbread Houses™ are the legacy of the 19th century cocoa boom in Trinidad and Tobago, when they became fashionable in the expanding suburbs of Port of Spain, San Fernando and Arima. They were gaily-painted wooden houses with detailed fretwork, ranging from small wooden cottages to sophisticated town houses with jalousies and verandahs embowered in trees and flowers.
This series of 4 designs celebrates the unique architectural style and cozy beauty of the Gingerbread House™.
